Rubik’s Cube enthusiasts looking for a unique challenge can get their hands on the world’s smallest Rubik’s Cube, but be prepared to pay a premium price. This new offering by Japanese toymaker MegaHouse is so small, it might require tweezers to solve and comes with a price tag of over $5,000.
The Tiniest Puzzle
Officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s “smallest rotating puzzle cube,” this miniature Rubik’s Cube is a marvel of engineering. At only 0.19 inches wide, it’s about 1,000th of the size of the original Rubik’s Cube. Made from aluminum, this tiny puzzle weighs a mere 0.33 grams and requires a high degree of precision to operate.
Luxury Puzzle
The high cost reflects the intricate manufacturing process and the novelty of the item. Pre-orders for the smallest Rubik’s Cube became available in August 2023 on the MegaHouse website, with an expected delivery date of April 2024. Each cube comes with a stand that proudly declares it the “World’s record smallest Rubik’s Cube.”
Celebrating a Classic
The release of this record-breaking cube coincides with the 50th anniversary of the original Rubik’s Cube. This miniature version offers a unique tribute to the iconic puzzle that has challenged and entertained people around the world for generations.
